Dubai records another milestone achievement. The 414 m Princess Tower - the world's tallest residential tower - developed by Tameer Holding - opened recently for occupancy. The tower, developed under the leadership of Federico Tauber, President, is located in Dubai Marina, a man-made canal overlooking the Gulf and is 107 floors high. The building comprises 763 units, 957 underground parking bays and eight retail outlets. It has been designed in a way to give its onlookers a feel of four buildings being on top of each other. The main aim of this was to facilitate efficient distribution of power and water. A separate floor is dedicated as a services floor. Additionally, a wind detection system, on the higher floors, aids in detecting the speed of the wind. The crown of the building also doubles as the shell that hides the four cooling towers that sit on top of the building.
