The Big 5 is showcasing five product sectors that facilitate business opportunities, paving the way for the construction sector´s successful development in Dubai and the GCC.
The outlook for Dubai´s construction industry is positive. The emirate is currently getting ready to welcome up to 25 million visitors to the first World Expo in the Middle East, 70 per cent of which are expected to come from overseas.
The total spend on infrastructure projects related to Dubai Expo 2020 may reach up to US$ 18 billion, with an estimated development costs of the Dubai South Area between US$ 8.1 billion and US$ 8.7 billion.
According to a BNC report commissioned by The Big 5, over 3,700 projects are currently ongoing across the Emirate and its total value is estimated to be around US$ 400 billion. Moreover, in the first months of 2016, US$ 8.3 billion projects have been awarded in the UAE, including the Atlantis hotel expansion on the Palm Jumeirah, the Burj 2020 development and the Route 2020 metro extension by RTA. Growing population, the tourism sector, strategic government investments like the Dubai Plan 2021 and the Dubai Expo 2020, are fuelling the local construction industry. The Big 5 is supporting this in a significant way by providing thousands of innovative products and the latest technologies from around the globe.
