Five years from now, Qatar will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but construction work on the Lusail Stadium that will host the finals has already begun. Under its Project Manager Tamim Loutfi Elabed, the ground is currently being cleared on the 1 million sq m site, and is soon expected to begin to resemble the 80,000-seater stadium. Further, foundations are expected to go in later this year, reports indicate.
Although in the early mobilisation stages currently, the project already has 500 workers on the job. And, Elabed plans to eventually employ up to 7,000 workers on site. Elabed's efforts to complete the Lusail stadium - which will also host the opening game of the 2022 tournament - by 2020 is set to score!
