You go big and start connecting provinces through air. And that is what Sulaiman Abdullah Al-Hamdan has done by establishing a cargo village at King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) in Dammam. Since more than 70 per cent of goods bound for the Gulf region are destined for the Kingdom, by facilitating operations, the cargo village, spread over 0.5 million sq m, positions KFIA as a multi-modal shipment and clearance destination, directly serving the Eastern Province and the Kingdom. In his position as newly appointed President of GACA, Al-Hamdan aims to transform the Kingdom´s aviation sector and make it a catalyst in augmenting the Saudi economy. Through this cargo village enhanced shipping capacity, reduced shipping times and efficiency at the highest levels conforming to international standards is some of the achievements that Al-Hamdan can boost of.
