Dubai is to have a structure taller than the Burj Khalifa´s 828 m. Named ´The Tower´ and conceived as a monument to the city, the developer Emaar Properties´ Chairman Mohammad Al Abbar, is eyeing this destination. To cost about Dh 3.65 billion, there will be room for a boutique hotel, and The Tower will be the centrepiece of a 6 sq km master-development that will be the Dubai Creek Harbour. It will have 6.79 million sq m of residential space, 851,000 of commercial, 11.16 million sq m of retail and 22 hotels offering a capacity of 4,400 rooms. Good news is that mobilising has already started and the piling will start by the end of June or early July. Al Abbar thinks that so much can be done through elegance, and through this, he believes the developer is adding something special. Indeed, it is!
