The setting up of a high level steering committee has been announced by the government of Oman to oversee the implementation of the flagship Medical City project. Named after Sultan Qaboos, the $1.5 bn venture will ease the burden on the governement's healthcare system. a ministerial decision with regard to the setting up of Sultan Qaboos Medical City has been issued. The project is chaired by Ali Bin Taleb Al Hinai, Undersecretary for Planning Affairs. The committee also includes the ministry's top adviser for Health Affairs, Sayyid Sultan Bin Yaarub Al Bu Saidi, and other high-ranking officials.
