Under the leadership of Fahd Al Rasheed, CEO, King Abdullah Economic City, the Kingdoms mega project called - King Abdullah Economic City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is all set to transform and become a local tourism hub. The massive project has been earmarked to become one of the most important cities in the Middle East. Al Rasheed has revealed that the citys planners are now looking to make it the most sought after destination for leisure, corporate, and religious tourism in the Kingdom. This includes a 2020 tourism vision, with the aim of growing the citys hospitality market from 71,000 room nights in 2014, to 550,000 by 2020. One of the projects main attractions is expected to be its 51 km of Red Sea virgin coastline and lagoon waterfront, which boasts of coral reefs.
